The 2024 Pet Parade will take place on Saturday, June 1, 2024 from 9:30am-11:30am. New forms are available each year, starting in January. Forms due: May 3, 2024.

PARTICIPATION FORMS

This registration is for non-profit organizations and/or clubs who would like to have an entry in the parade. Floats/entries must be parade and theme appropriate. Be sure to include all required information and the Pet Parade Committee will let you know by late May where your entry will be placed in the line-up.

Businesses are invited to be a sponsor of the parade. These sponsorship costs off-set the payments given to Shriner’s groups and various other paid acts who many times are non-profits and are an integral part of the parade (other examples include Jesse White Tumblers and South Shore Drill Team). Please note that the parade committee is looking for these sponsorship entries to bring entertainment value for the crowd.

This registration is for acts asking for payment to be in the parade. We will try and get back with you as soon as possible, so that you will be able to book another parade, if your act isn’t chosen for the June 1, 2024 parade.

RULES OF PARTICIPATION

  • NO candy is allowed to be thrown out while on the parade route. Candy may be handed out at the curb. If candy is thrown during the parade, those in violation of this rule will not be asked to participate in next year’s parade.

(Note: This rule is important because children run into the middle of the street to pick up candy, which is dangerous)

  • NO ball throwing, use of water guns, super soakers or any water devices are allowed.
  • Each parade unit must stay approximately 50 feet away from the unit ahead and in front of them. Please assign one member of your unit to help maintain this requirement.
  • Each parade unit is required to stay on the parade route for its entirety. Exiting off the parade route early will result in not being allowed in the following year’s parade.
  • Pet Waste will be cleaned up promptly throughout the entire day.
  • Your group will bring entertainment value to the parade.
  • Photos taken of the parade may be used for non-profit promotional purposes.
  • Parade Marshals are present throughout the entire parade route. The Parade Marshals are instructed to enforce these rules and the safety of the parade participants and parade goers.
